Choosing an agent for a high-value Jupiter home is a financial decision, not a popularity contest. The right broker should be able to explain, with data, how your home will be priced, marketed and negotiated. This is the framework I would use to interview any broker, including me.
I am Kyle Camerlinck, broker and owner of Taiter Realty. I was born and raised in Jupiter and my background is in finance, which is why I start every pricing conversation with what you will actually keep. More about my background is on my About page.
Every Florida broker and sales associate is licensed by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Look up any agent you interview on the DBPR license search and confirm the license is active. Ask for documentation of any designation they claim and confirm it with the issuing organization.
Ask for the dated comparable sales behind any suggested price. For waterfront property, those comps should account for ocean access, bridge clearance, water depth and dockage, not just square footage. I explain why in 5 Factors That Set Jupiter Waterfront Prices.
Also ask for an estimated net sheet. A higher sale price does not always mean more money in your pocket once commissions, documentary stamp taxes, title charges and credits are counted. My breakdown of what Jupiter sellers actually keep walks through it.
Search the broker's name or license number on the Florida DBPR license portal at myfloridalicense.com. My Florida broker license number is BK3487029.
Ask how they will price the home from dated comparable sales, how they will market it, who is on their team, how they handle privacy, and what the agreement says about fees and termination.
No. A high suggested price is not a marketing plan. Ask for the comparable sales behind the number and how the agent will adjust if showings and feedback point to a different value.
My focus is Jupiter and northern Palm Beach County, including Tequesta, Palm Beach Gardens, Juno Beach and Hobe Sound.
Interview at least two brokers, ask each the same questions and compare the answers in writing. For more on the process, see my Jupiter real estate agent guide.
If you own a home and are weighing a sale, send me your address and I will give you a property-specific review based on current comparable sales.
